Guadalupe River State Park

I thoroughly enjoyed this park this weekend, and it is super close by! The park fee is only $7 and when I went they did have a few trails closed to prevent erosion, however it was still a blast. I hiked Bald Cypress Trail, River Overlook Trail, Storybook Trail, and Turkey Sink Trail. Most of the trails are under two miles, and they have a pretty easy terrain. There are a lot of places to stop for a picnic or even spend the whole day by the river. The park also loans fishing gear for use in the park.

Park HQ open:

8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Park gate open:

8 a.m. - 8 p.m.

There are three campsite spots; Turkey Sink, Cedar Sage, and Wagon Ford. The nightly rate is between $15 and $20.

Cedar Sage and Turkey Sink has electricity and water hookups. There are restrooms with showers and fire rings at each site. Wagon Ford is the only site that does not have electricity or showers. Turkey Sink is a perfect spot and there are trails right off the main campsite. The river is just a little walk from your tent.

Check-in: 2:00 pm Check-out: 12:00 pm

Before arriving, I made a pit stop for a few supplies and I snagged one of the best outdoor blankets ever. It's waterproof, lightweight, and it comes with stakes to secure it to the ground. Easy to fold back into the baggy it comes in. I would highly recommend buying this blanket for your next outdoor adventure.
