Who doesn't love a beach vacation? However, no one wants to go to the beach and be unprepared. Here are a few tips that I've learn over that years and now they are golden!
1. Check the beach rules for your favoite activities
Do you require a location that is accessible by someone with limited mobility? Do you want to be able to bring a grill and have a cookout? Collect sea shells? Find out in advance whether whatever you need or want to do is allowed.
2. Get your glow
There is nothing better than a fresh beach tan. I ALWAYS bring my bottle of Australian Gold Sunscreen Continuous Spray. This is an instant bronzer with SPF 15.
3. Bring beach bags, chairs, ziplock bags, trash bags, and beach cart
Beach Wagon - One thing I hate is having to make multible trips to and from your car just to get everything to your spot on the beach. Check out this great amazon find that will be your favorite beach neccesity.
Beach Bag - Another great amazon find, Water Resistant Large Tote Bag.
Trash Bag - Something that seems to always slip peoples minds is a trash bag, DONT FORGET!!!
Ziploc Bags in Several Sizes - Ziploc bags are great for anything. Keeping your book dry, your phone, towels, and munchies of course!
4. Plan your activities
Wether you are a lets relax on the beach kinda person or let's have fun in the sun, plan out your activities.
Here are a few of my favoite things to do on the beach:
- Corn Hole
- Volleyball
- Ladder Toss
- Horse Shoes
- Fly a Kite
5. The Main Course - FOOD
There is something about being at the beach that just makes me hungry. Here are a few of my beach favorites and they are super simple!
Sandwhich's - Pre-make your sandwhichs before getting to the beach and place them into those ziploc bags.
Chips - Once again the ziploc bags save the day. Fill up individual baggies with chips and if you have kids this is a great way to make sure they dont eat the whole bag. (or even for yourself lol)
Lettuce Wraps - This sounds more complex but I promise it's just as simple as sandwhichs. Buy a whole head and lettuce and place it into a baggie. Pre-make your fillings and place it into a container for later.
Grapes - Pretty much any fruit with a protective outer layer (plums, oranges, nectarines, etc.) are great, but grapes can serve double duty as ice if you have a small cooler.
Brownies - If you have a sweet tooth, brownies are one of the best ways to satisfy it at the beach. Since they're baked through, they won't melt like other chocolatey treats, and they don't need to stay in the cooler if you're short on space.
Grain Salad - You’ve got a bunch of options with this—tabbouleh, farro salad, quinoa salad…pretty much any grain, mixed with fresh veggies and cheese, is a winner at the beach.
