The Palmetto Hotel: An Eclectically Stay

Over the past weekend, I had a wonderful solo getaway in my favorite coastal city, Charleston, South Carolina. I stayed at The Palmetto Hotel in downtown Charleston, and it was the perfect retreat. While Charleston offers many beautiful historic hotels like the Charleston Place and Mills House, The Palmetto Hotel has always been on my list of places to stay.

The Palmetto Hotel is an eclectically designed hotel with beautifully appointed rooms, private balconies, and a unique lobby and bar. The hotel opened its doors in March 2023 and has since garnered a 4.3-star rating. The Palmetto is conveniently located within walking distance of the Market, the French Quarter, and the harbor. It is also surrounded by restaurants and charming shops.

I had a room with a private balcony that overlooked an alleyway. It had beautiful French doors, a queen bed, and a cute little sofa at the foot. The bathroom was top-notch, with a large walk-in shower and robes. They also offered refreshments such as coffee, espresso shots, and more. When I returned from dinner, they brought water and a little sweet treat to my room and provided fresh towels.

Downstairs boasts a speakeasy-style bar and a charming lobby with ample seating for a quick bite or a cocktail. On the main street, there is a delightful seating area where you can relish watching the carriages go by while sipping on something fruity. They also offer valet, which I recommend using since parking can be challenging to find in Charleston.

My stay at the Palmetto Hotel was truly exceptional, and I can't wait to visit again soon! Whether you're looking for a peaceful solo retreat or a romantic getaway, this hotel is the perfect choice. The charming city of Charleston adds to the overall experience, making it a truly unforgettable destination.
